This is the very first style of pinfire gun. It was made by Casimir Lefaucheux.

Some of the earlier Lefaucheux percussion guns and Picherau Pauly-style guns were converted to pinfire but this was the first one made as a pinfire.

Yeah it would be 1835 - 1845.

Appears to be identical to the Lefaucheux gun exhibited at the Great Exhibition held in the Crystal Palace, London in 1851.

Fantastic gun and photos. It is fascinating to think these guns were used in France for many years before the British gun industry started down that path. A very clever design, beautifully rendered.
