Has anyone else noticed the sharp uptick in opening bid amounts for SxS’s since the beginning of the COVID crises here in the states? Specific makers or models that I watch for (or just watch) are starting markedly higher. Two guns that I made inquiries on this summer and had high opening bids disappeared from GB and then showed up on GI about 30% higher.

It doesn’t seem that demand is driving the rise as I’m also noticing that not much is selling. Penny auctions, also, seem to be disappearing.

Thoughts?

In my neck of the woods almost everybody has gone bonkers for AR-Style weapons, riot guns and 9mm semiautos. 1911's sell reasonably well too. BTW: I'm starting to see ammo getting back on the shelves but anything .223, 9mm, 45acp is sold out before it's put on the shelf.
