I have a 1935 12 gauge 4E Ithaca which has two sets of VR barrels and 2 beaver tailed forearms numbered to the gun. In addition the gun has a monte carlo stock and a single selective trigger. According to Mr. Walter Snyder the gun was shipped 8/23/35 to a W. L. Myers, no location given. Anyone who has information concerning W. L. Myers please contact me.

thanks

Try Ancestry.com and start your search on the 1930 US census and go plus and minus from there.

Here, I think are some images of the gun. The original barrels are 28 and 30 inches with the 28 inch barrels choked modified and the 30 inch barrels choked full. The 32 inch barrels are full choked and came off of a 5E. All barrels have vent ribs. The two forearms are numbered 1 and 2.

Great gun!! Interesting that it has the nicer looking later style beavertail forearm wood but still has the earlier style Deeley forearm latch mechanism. My No. 4E 20-gauge that was sold in 1933 but has a higher serial number, 457534, has the short fat beavertail of the earlier NIDs.

Lower forearm is from my 1936 vintage No. 4E 12-gauge skeet gun which has the later style latch which combines the lever-actuated tilting block of a Parker along with the spring tension of the Baker J-spring.
