Went out to a couple of semi local gunshops today and saw a few interesting things,
Fox Sterlingworth, 20 gauge, 28" barrels and ejectors. Some nice case color left, strong condition. Savage era but early one with slim fore arm. $1650

Browning Superposed, Pigeon grade, 12 bore, 28" barrels, super wood, super condition, $3200

Ferlib hammer gun, 12 bore, 28" barrels, plain wood, case color / border engraved. Had two but not a pair, 5K for both.

Purdey, 12 bore, two sets of barrels. 30" and 28" cased in vintage leather case with some accessories. 30" barrels had a small dent near muzzle. Made 1889, overall good condition 15K

Winchester Pre 64 Model 70, 257 Roberts, $1800

Winchester 410 / 2 1/2" field loads, $20 a box

I agree with Bobby. It sounds like the best deal mentioned. I'm growing rather fond of mine.

Those Ferlibs are a very good buy at that price. $2500 for a modern hammer gun by a very respected, high quality, low volume maker is a steal. A Bernardelli or Beretta hammer gun would cost nearly as much and not be anywhere so well fit and finished.

Another vote for the Sterly. Small bore w/ ejectors, good condition and under $1800.00. Might be too good to be true...?

I'm guessing that's a real nice price on the 20 gauge Sterly. Ejectors small bore Sterly's are much in demand these days. That price isn't out of line for that gun minus the ejectors if the condition is as nice as presented.

I recently spotted a Sterly 20ga ejector, 28", really nice condition in a local sporting goods store. First year production. $1500. I didn't have my tools with me. Returned the next afternoon. It had been sold that morning. He who hesitates . . .

if I didn't already have 3 guns waiting to be sold I would ask about the Purdey

I think you need to stay out of gunshops head down to Walmart and pick up some 410 shells other day they had them for $12 a box.
