I don't really know one sidelock from the mutlitude of varieties. What do you call this one? just basic?

back action, screw grip , Not stocked to the fences. It might be a very simple mechanism.

W&R patent action. Webley & Rogers.

This action was used on everything from low to high grade and any grade in between. Very popular, robust action used by virtually every maker and retailer at one time or another.

Locks look pretty similar to my Tolley. Simple, but effective.

Intersting lock on that Tolley. Seems that one spring powers both the main sear and intercepting safety. Unless there is a spring I cannot see in the photo.

Here is another simple design out of the Osborne factory, unique roller on the hammer spring, all kinds of cool stuff during this time period.

I had a WJ Jeffery, one of those I never should have sold, that was a back action with a roller on the upper limb of the mainspring.
