In order to not derail John's timely thread remembering the passing of the great Rush Limbaugh, if our host will allow let's honor him in another way also, by remembering the funniest, or most meaningful, or most poignant thing you remember from his show. As long as he is alive in our memories his passion for freedom and liberty might live on. L. Brown did so in his post on the other thread with his remembrance of the caller on the topic of a national women's day.

Funniest thing I remember was way back when it became a big thing concerning the a/c coolant R12 ruining our ozone layer, and which was banned in the mid-90s. As usual there were some interesting comments by callers concerning this, then one young lady called in and said "Rush, my only comment is ....... "Give me freon or give me death!". I was driving a tractor in a field at the time, and recall Rush bursting forth in laughter. I did, too.

Mega dittos, Rush

IIRC Rush featured the Barnacle Bros Sixty Second Sale on his show..... pretty funny! My wife was a big fan as well as I.
Anytime Mick called with stories of city folk dropping cats and dogs off out in the country so they could be “assimilated” back to Mother Nature.
Rush assured us they were assimilated by Mick, into puppy tacos and kitten stew. If Mick’s dog was barking in the background, during the call, Rush would ask Mick what the dog was saying. Mick would say, “he’s a dog, Rush, he cain’t talk”.
I seem to remember that guy was a retired executive of some sort.
This was early in the shows history.

Best,
Ted
