I I have a 20 ga Kimber O/U Hatfield made in Turkey that was tagged as a Valier .
I It has a Prince of Wales grip buttstock.
From research I am able to find I am assuming it was tagged wrong and is a Marias model and not a Valier.
Am I correct in deciphering that all Valier models were straight stocked and all Marias models were pistol gripped stocked?
Thank you,
Dale
Dale—the Valier was a SxS model. The Marias was the O/U. I shot a 30” Marias model for years and it was a beautiful and dynamic shooting gun.
I have seen both models and Bill is correct. Any SXS should have been tagged Valier. I actually have spent time with Neil Oldridge, the gent who sent up manufacturing of the Hatfield then Kimber guns produced in Turkey. His account was that some if not all of those guns were built with early Beretta CNC machines sold to the Turkish operation. I really liked the 20 ga. Valier sidelock, but they were a bit heavy.
