Pics of the touchmarks may be the only avenue to narrow the date range?

The lettre annale can be difficult to interpret, and as Raimey suggested, a full size close up image of the barrel flats and just forward of the flats would let us assist you

Thanks to Drew and Raimey for your help and suggestions. A friend will post some photos for me in this thread later today of the barrel flats and just forward of the flats.
