Has anyone tried many of the new, novel BioAmmo from Spain? I have picked up a couple cases of #7s and #5s, but have only ignited a couple cartridges.

https://bioammo.es/products/hunting/

Bore Brass Height Shot Size Vel M/S FT/S
HUNTING Lead 12 / 70 16 32g. 1 1/8oz. 4E*, 5E*, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 390 1280

So, with a velocity of 390 m/s, anyone hazard a guess @ the pressure, like in the 1000s increments?

Diggory Hadoke’s Vintage Gun Journal online October issue tries some out in the field.

Somewhat underwhelmed by the results.

Many thanks for the direction.

As long as the situation is >>Somewhat Underwhelmed<<, I probably can cope with them.

I plan to test the #5s on the Wiley Kansas pheasants and will log some data. I guess I need to pattern a few and obtain some velocities?

The article I was referring to is dated October 2022 and is in the latest issue.

I think in the November 2021 article he was trying out 2 3/4” cartridges and in the current issue 67mm for 2 1/2” guns which could well make a difference.

Hope your test goes well!

Diggory was appraising the non-toxic Blue shot version loaded by Biammo and gave a fairly positive review of that I thought.

I wouldn't call it a positive report Bio steel. The reloader changed loads on him because he wasn't doing well.

That`s a different article to the one linked above ! He didn`t do well at grouse but 25g of #5 isn`t a great pattern for those fellas...

Odd I was talking with Simon Reinhold, he really liked the 34g #3 steel said the were a fantastic load. Maybe they got it right with steel.

Using the BOSS shells low pressure in my pre1920 guns.Higher pressure in my modern guns during duck season very happy with them.

I'm using them also, but I don't really know how "low" low is. Have you any idea?
