I have a pre-war gun that was fit for a new set of barrels. They are chopper lump, have London proofs and are of excellent quality. They are marked LP over 94 on the barrel flats. The 94 would be the year of make, 1994. Does anyone have any idea who LP would be? Thanks.

Yep. Thanks. Just found it here. London date code.

If the original maker’s name is on the rib of the new barrels, they should have been supplied by (or under the auspices of ) the original “ maker”.

If it says “new barrels by XYZ” that speaks for itself.

A photo of the underside of the tubes between the barrel flats and the fore-end loop may tell us more.
