I wish to separate the forend iron assembly from the wood on my Rem. 1894 ejector for cleaning. I do not intend to disassemble the ejector system, only clean away 119 years of accumulated oil vanish in my sonic parts cleaner and then replace in the wood. My question....

After I remove the two screws holding the iron to the wood will this just lift out without any unwanted surprises?

Yes, it may be a little tough getting it out but you should have no problems with the ejectors
