Does anyone make a mold for 16 bore conical bullets? Not interested in slug molds.
Mike I believe the Lee 12 gauge slug mold ,which is designed to fit into a 12 gauge shot cup mic's very close to 16 bore size...I took a quick look at mine (which will slide easily into a 16 gauge hull)and it will almost push into my 16 bore Husky rolling block rifle with thumb pressure.
With that being said,I have NOT officially measured them yet,and it would be wise to do so as I'm sure you're well aware.
I would love to hear how you make out with this, mine's a long way from shooting just yet .
I'm so sorry,I just re-read your post ,I did see one at NIE molds I think, and Peter Dyson has just what you're looking for
You could ask John Millar to make one for you. I had an original Holland 16 bore paradox mold here for a while. The mold is gone but I kept some castings.
Mike, Call Tom at accuratemolds.com
He does very fast fair work and might be ble to handle this one with ease. He did my 2 weight 2 cavity one for the 600 w/o extra cost.
PM I don't suppose I could talk you into loaning me one of your cast bullets could I? I'll even say pretty please and pay the postage both ways.
Mike I have Tom on save and as soon as I find a correct bullet to copy I'll give him a call.
He can easily design what you need too. Just give him some deatils and he'll come up with what's needed. I let him have his way with my mold and it turned out fine.
I will try and locate the castings but I believe Millar may already have a copy.
PM who's Millar? Does he have a copy of the cast bullet or a copy of the mold?
John Millar I believe got a casting and has made some molds either in aluminum or brass original. His contact #s are in Cal's book. I will still try and locate the castings I kept.
Thanks PM. I'll also contact John.
Mike, Are you coming up to the Palmer Fair grounds tomarrow?
I'm headed up to see Cal to see what he thinks about the 577/500 Henry I have.
the 577/500 Henry I have.
Why don't you post some photos and specifics of the rifle and we can all venture an opinion on it?
Mike I'm not. I have to work.
Bummer Mike!
But someone has to do it!
PM I'm going to work on some pics today. It's a very nice one!
I'm sure that Alex didn't make any bad ones. With his stuff it's just condition.
Mike - try NEI Handtools (neihandtools.com)
If they don't already have what you want among their hundreds and hundreds of moulds they'll make it up lickety-split.
