I just took the barreled action out of the stock of G&H # 1070 and found a name stamped on the area behind the recoil lug and also on the web between the magazine mortise and the trigger mortise "Leonardo". Has anyone else seen this stamp?

Best,

Mal

Im not familiar with a Leonardo. Can you post some pictures of the stock? Especially the left side of the action and grip? There was a guy there that was making stocks different from everyone else and I've been trying to figure it out for ~5 years.

Ill try to post a couple pix of mine. Never done it from my iPhone...

Bryndon,

I sent pics to MP, maybe he can put them on. I'm just a confirmed luddite.

That looks like one of those G&H stocks that is more along the lines of the "Hoffman" school rather than their standard house style, definitely more European than American in taste. Some of them look this way, but not many. Have you contacted G&H? They might well have be able to help you with names of past stockmakers employed there.

Also, is that a commercial action? The bolt shroud looks like a civilian item.
