Someone suggested Harvey Rodgers. I think he is included in Petrov's book, but I don't have the book....Geo
I'm still learning about sporters but I do have Petrov's book. It seems what distinguishes his work, besides overall excellence in workmanship, is the extension of the bottom line of the cheek piece into the grip area. Your rifle looks much like the photographs although your comb line is higher than those shown.
Petrov wrote a second book. I think they are still available.
If you are interested in the custom sporters I suggest you
try to get a copy sooner rather than later. The prices will surely go up.
Hammergun, the bottom line of the cheek piece certainly appears to extend into the grip. I think the hump on the top may be what I believe is called a Bohemian comb? Herschel, I'll look for a copy of the book. Thank you both for the information...Geo
The book is too expensive for me. I'll keep looking for a deal..Geo
A generous member here offered me a copy of the Petrov book at a price I could not refuse. I'm reading it now. There is a chapter on Harvey Rodgers. Many thanks...Geo
I just did a quick search of the books. Used copies on amazon are $150 and up for vol 1 and $250 for the one remaining used copy of vol 2!!!
