What’s the going price for a Hoffman marked Howe/Whelen Springfield sight?

I haven’t seen one sell for quite a long time but an interesting fact— I have the original Hoffman Arms shop ledger that they recorded many sales, etc. in 1923-1924. The Howe-Whalen bolt peep sold for $25 in 1923! As much as or more than most guns!

This is the closest thing I have seen. I suspect the answer is more than this @ $500 + premium.

I think the last one I saw for sale was 650$ or so and that was a while ago.
Interesting question. One just sold on Gunbroker, $401, item # 926765804

Sight:
WOW! I have a 103 mounted on a firing pin I’d sell in a heartbeat for$500.

Maybe selling, along with a H&H/Hoffman Mauser action, some stock blanks, Niedner mauser barrel.

While this isn't a Howe-Whelen sight, it is mounted on a modified 1903 bolt shroud and retains the
safety. The adjustments are crude and similar to some of the Lyman sights like used on the Savage 1920 and some Mannlichers.
One good thing about it, is that the rear aperture can sit quite low. The front sight on the rifle it is on, is only about 0.9 inches above the centerline of the bore, [Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

It does have the little detent that Howe suggests in his book, to remove the play in the bolt shroud.

Regarding that Howe-Whelen sight that sold on gunbroker, the seller has another complete 1903 bolt, complete with a Lyman
cocking piece sight, I can't see any evidence of a detent though.

I have a very similar folding peep on the cocking piece of my 404 Jeffery. I believe it is a Lyman no.1?
