Has many of the hallmarks of pre-war gunsmith, any thoughts on the possible maker?

I'd guess John Oberlies,,
The checkering runs right into the inletting not something I have seen from John Oberlies.
FWIW-- with the schnable forearm, I am guessing a gunsmith with Germanic heritage?? Nice Winchester indeed. RWTF
The high stock nose, the forend shape w/ schnable and those sling swivels made me think Oberlies.
I have a 95Win w/ the same characteristics done by him.
Nothing other than that made me think it may be his. The inletting is certainly clean and sharp as it is on mine.
I don't have the same checkering style done right to the tang. But custom is custom,
Could be any number of stockers, many unkn, that did excelent work.
It could be he did do alot of upgrading on factory guns, I had a 1886 he upgraded into a deluxe but the factory wood was retained so it looked very different then the one on GB.
