It seems that during a move, one of my claw mounted scopes along with other things have vanished. mad

I am wanting to get a replacement that is esthetically correct for a 1930's German drilling. Does any gunsmith currently use the older sweating/soldering methods of attaching mounts to a steel bodied scope? I have tried the usual suggestions of NECG, jj Perodeau and a few others with no success.

I am not interested in a modern ring style mount.

You could try Eric Meitzner of Solon Springs, WI. I know he has done claw mounts, but don't know if modern or old style.

There is a vintage German scope with both the claws attached to the rail AND the claw bases on Ebay. Maybe it could be dovetailed in some how?

Talked with Eric Meitzner. He is willing to take on the task. Sounded like a very nice fellow.
