That is a G-55(or G-60) Royal, they cost as much to build as a best London sidelock. There may be nothing wrong with the action.Greener Self-Acting Ejectors eject before they cock,if you don't open the barrels far enough the gun will not close! My 10 bore Greener G gun still kills geese every spring in SD,it's a great gun,but a bit misunderstood.

Greener was designed to cock first then eject to obviate this very issue.

I _really_ like my G60 12 gauge, it is just a magnificent piece of craftsmanship, but it does have that quirk with the otherwise excellent self-acting ejectors. One must be certain to open the gun fully to complete the cocking cycle as ejection occurs using mainspring power first.
The mechanism is simple in concept, fascinating in operation and evidently the devil to put right if it's bodged.

Great info on the ejectors lads. How many cartridges are you going to put through her a week Franc? Does Abe work on Greener 55 ejectors?

I have a Greener Self-Acting SN 364xx. It is in minty shape, but not high grade. In the guns's case is a cocking tool. I was told the gun cannot go together if the hammers are dropped until they are recocked. Since you recock with the underlug hooks, they cannot get up under their spot to work when the hammers are down, hence the recocker tool. The little pieces that do all the work of ejecting and cocking have to be in the proper position when putting the barrels back on. Nothing fails into place automatically. Just line up the bits with the ejectors out and it will go together with just a little push to get the cocking hooks under the hammers. I don't let friends try. I show them if they are interested. Really a flat head screw driver can do the same function. If you didn't know, you couldn't get the gun back together. The tool has a curved notch that fits the hinge pin and a flat piece that goes up under each hammer.

A handsome, but complex piece of machinery - if not totally up-to-snuff...I'd stand clear. "Somewhere along the line, these guns fell out of favor to the London pattern sidelock ejectors."(Vic Venters Shooting Snobster Mag) - a tough fix might be the reason ol'boy!
