Anyone ever heard of this maker? I have not seen the gun and guess it is a private label made by Stevens or? Thanks, Bobby

Bobby,
I believe Worthington was a hardware store in Ohio. They sold guns made up by Stevens and Crescent. Also used the trade name Hart Arms. I could be wrong....

Wow! Only the 2nd I've heard of. That was my first gun. That was was 57 years ago. I wish I still had it but auctioned it off to get money to buy a hunting license and ammo. Then I borrowed a gun.
Anyway, Russ Rumple (sp?)told me it was a Cresent. Mine was a single shot hammer gun.

George Worthington of Cleveland. See one every once in awhile at Cabellas near the Hole in the Wall. I always hear it's one of the 100 names of Crescent; sideplates un-Stevens-like.

Jack is correct if it's a Belgian double or a Crescent sidelock double. Please see http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/20091267

George Worthington apparently used several suppliers. I have seen the Crescents and once had a 20 bore made by Stevens..Thats been a while back as I sold it to Herschel Chaddick, to lay on his table with his 5 Parkers. It was just about Mint and I got $90 for it.. MDC

A couple of obviously Tobin doubles have come to light marked Worthington or C.G. Worthington.

The Cleveland guy is likely the source of the gun in question, but a Baltimore Worthington, H.L.Worthington, is also mentioned in the double gun world of the era. I think he was a competition shooter rather than a marketer of double guns.

Thanks to all! Great info! I was hoping that Parker made a dozen 410s for Worthington! Just my luck! Bobby
