After a quail hunt yesterday, I was offered the opportunity to buy an SKB 585 Gold in 28 ga/26". I couldn't walk away from this deal but wondered if anyone could give me the scoop on SKB and the 585 Gold.

SKBs are wonderful guns. The shame is that your 28 bore will have screw in chokes resulting in pregnant muzzles. I have a CZ Bobwhite 28 ga. and while it does have screw in chokes, it is not as pregnant as the others. But SKB has always built a very wonderful gun, and if you can live with the blunderbus affect, I'd say grab it. You will not be disappointed. Chopperlump
