I have a Fulton 16, ser# F39541, it has a 3 and an 8 on the bbls, in addition to the Ser #. Are these choke designators? Gun just came back from Fred Wenig...It kills roosters! Any idea on DOM?

Your gun dates to 1921, I don't think Hunter ever used any date codes like that.. MDC

He was asking about "choke" codes, not "date" codes.

LD, Great Look to the old Fulton. Gotta love the straight grip gun. I even like the straight grip on a shovel. Wenig pops up now and then with some beautiful stock work. Appreciate the photos you post from time to time. Makes this forum come to life. We get to see who's behind the door. Good hunting. Randy

Far as I know, the only company that ever used numbers to designate choke was Ithaca. 0 to 4, cylinder to full. Fox used numbers on the barrels, just ahead of the flats, to designate barrel weight. And of course Parker used numbers to designate frame size. Stamped on the lump.
