I just stumbled on these rather interesting ads in The American Field circa 1900. Anyone found a gun so modified by these guys?

I haven't seen it anywhere but in some of the early Browning Superposeds. Beretta made a single trigger that had a rocker on it. Pulling the trigger by the upper part of the rocker would fire the top barrel first and pulling the lower section would select the lower barrel to shoot first. The second pull on the same section would then fire the other barrel.

Darnes can be built with such a trigger. I only sold one here in the US. Maybe Dick will chime in. I think it was an answer to a question that hadn't been asked. Best, Ted

Not quite a response to your post but I have double single triggers on a 1935 Browning Superposed Skeet gun. Interesting in that both barrels are choked the same at .009. Go figure.
So many guns, so little time!

My gunsmith has one of the Superposed's with that set-up as his personal gun. He says they're quite ingenious and work well.

Milt, my double single trigger Superposed Trap is bored full and full. How about that. I can't figure out why either.

That is Franz Jaeger's(GGCA Mr. Apel's Grandfather) 1st invention/patent while in NY: http://www.google.com/patents?id=d1VOAAAAEBAJ&printsec=abstract&zoom=4&dq=674843 . He returned to Suhl to implement additional inventions. Franz's Uncle, mother's brother, was Gustav Kersten, inventor of the Kersten lock-up, Prussian army armorer. The other fella isn't Gustav Bittner of Wiepert, but the brothers Carl and Edmond of The Gun Improvement Company. Bittiner brothers had 12/25 ths of U.S. Patent 663,545. By 1907 Carl Bittiner returned to Luttich, Germany. But Mr. Apel either has an example or a pic of an example. There might be one in the GGCA's publication. Kind Regards, Raimey rse

Perhaps it would allow the use of different cartridges through the same choke constriction - eg a slightly larger size shot or heavier load for farther targets/lighter, smaller pellets for closer - and the ability to choose at will. Laurona used to make an o/u that would fire both barrels with either trigger.
