Opinions on the following. Is this a "best work" gun? Would you consider it an "extra finish" gun? Could the current condition be accurately described as, "significant use"?

BV4-OQ1-CC3 = $5229. It hammered at £2500; 2500 X 1.2 (buyer's premium) X 1.45 (currency exchange) = $4350. Add $500 for shipping and we get $4850. Pretty good deal? Although I looked real hard, I didn't buy it. I think it is am important gun in consideration of the little known brand vs the high quality.

I agree with most of that. Not sure about the "significant use". I can see some handling marks in the wood, that is all. The maker is not widely known, but produced quality guns.

A couple of threads about this maker:

Seems like a very good deal to me. Excepting the short stock, everything about it is positive from my vantage point. I don't see it as "significant" use, but pictures are very deceptive--would have like to have gotten a hands-on report. Don, you should have bought it!

Thanks for the input, Pete.

Current Condition level two is "slight use," which seems a bit too good for this gun, while it clearly has not had "heavy use, but no abuse" per CC4.

The BV4 is for a named maker not widely known or one more widely known but usually associated with lower quality grade guns (sullied reputation).
