Geno, first of all I want to say that in 2005 I hunt in Russia but not with my personal gun. My wife is Russian and in a near future I planned to hunt again in your country. How can I import my personal gun (or guns) in Russia?? I have the intention to live one of my guns with relativs of my wife,also hunters to avoid administrativ troubles, is that also possible??

I have hunted wild boar in Poland with my own gun. I had to get a permit from the Polish Consulate in NYC for both the gun and my ammunition. When I arrived at the airport in Warsaw I was whisked through the diplomatic line by attractive mini skirted customs officers. The most beautiful of the young ladies set my gun case on a table and, while looking searchingly right into my eyes, she intoned in deeply accented English, "You will now show me your tool."
I had a great adventure hunting... etc... in Poland. Having spent much time in Russia on non-hunting excursions, I would expect similar treatment.
