How about just plain 'ol Frederick Beesley, of Purdey fame? 2 St. James street London England. His guns serial numbers went to 2800 - so a late gun, about WWI or there after I would think.

1996 to 2034 is 1924, 2035 to 2063 is 1925, 2064 to 2121 is 1926. There is plenty of information on Frederick Beesley as he was one of the most inventive of Gunmakers. It will be a quality gun. Lagopus.....

Lagopus, does the name spelling difference ring any bells for you?

F. Beesley over/under was started in 1911 and finished and sold after the war around 1922. It's number was 2345. Apparently several Beesley guns sat in the shop for many years, some later being finished up by others.

Hotrack, some of the guys are wondering real hard about your initial post. That 'J' could be a mistake but it could mean a whole lot worse.

The only other Beesley I have on record is an Amos Beesley in Birmingham circa 1872. I think that it will be a Frederick, which fits if it is 'high quality' with a number in the 2,000 region. Lagopus.....
