Hi all, this was inspired by the article that SDH wrote in the SSM. I just thought I'd ask which one you are.
Me, I'm an accumulator. I have 21 SxS's of which 12 are Spanish, 4 English, 2 German, 2 American and 1 Italian.
The above range in value from a mere $400 to over $3500. Most fall in the $2000 to $2500 range.
I do manage to shoot/hunt all of them. Maybe only once, but they do get out.
So, what are you and what do you have?
All the best!
Greg

Accumulator.
I do shoot many of my doubles, or did so when I had two good wings. Too many guns, too little time and just not enough things to shoot. Some guns are not shot due to condition or rarity. More of the first and too few of the last. But they all are neat and most make me reflect where they have been and what they have done in the long ago past.

Greg, I'm like you an accumulator. I have aquired a pile of Beretta SxS's in 20,16,12 and one 10ga. The over/unders are Beretta and range from S3, S3EL, SO4(three barrel set), and an SO5. They are all 12ga. I do my level best to shoot everyone or at least enjoy trying even if one gets over looked. Best, Ron

Collector - one who collects objects as a hobby / to accumulate and vice versa, so I guess I'm both but I like the sound of "Collector" better (more class). Over the years I have "accumulated" a "collection" of SxS double shot guns mostly with damascus barrels of various name and action types. The "other" collection is composed of mainly of older 98 Mauser actioned rifles/shotguns by European makers. --- John Can.

Can I be an enthusiast?! I do keep a modest battery with a couple of clear themes, and actively seek specimens to add (when disposable income allows). I also make a point of shooting them in the field and on the range (but strictly socially). RG

I'd probably have to say that I'm an accumulator! Although at times, I'd like to move up socially into the collector category, the beer budget doesn't reconcile with the champagne taste! Therefore, I buy what I can afford, when I can afford it!

In not too distant future the only shotgun I will own is my 1956 vintage Ithaca 37 20ga with 26" IC barrel. It's all I need for occasional bunny or dove shoots. The rest of them have outlived their usefulness. I'm thinking of getting back into the world of stamp and coin collecting.

I'm probably a collector but only if you allow that I collect what interests me, not what 'collectors all want'.

Since I didn't get married until I was 44, I have an excellent collection of ex-girlfriends. Little thought went into this collection, but, it exists. My accumulation of guns was thought out a bit better, but, not much. An accumulation of guns is much more useful than a collection of ex-girlfriends. Best, Ted
