It may very well be off, I wish I had a few pictures of originals too see and play around with trying to match the color style...

Nope no logwood, I think alot of the final color comes from the mineral content of the water I wash it with after etching....

Northup, amazing picture in the garden, is that the colour you set out to get? I have never seen one like that its beautifull, I have finished barrels for a long time but I have not seen one that shade before, I stick to the brown and white finish over here but I hear the black and white calling me!! have you any other pics of work you have done?

I wanted the black and white, but by no means is it the color I set out to get I have just stumbled upon the method really and I know the color comes from certain minerals in the type of tap water I rinse the barrel with, u can literally watch it change in front of your eyes..... As for other work all i can show u is a damascus 10 gauge L.C. Smith barrel Ive done.... Im 26 years old and really just started getting into the doubles about 6 months ago... Ill post pictures of the other barrel later on
