I have a set of barrels ("in-the-raw) that need to be bored, chambered and choked. Who does this type of work? Also, who can cut the rib in either an "S" pattern (similar to Fox) or some other pattern?

Thanks,

I know two people that might be able to do this; both are in Europe. It will not be cheap, however. Rib cutting is more problematic. Please list your email address if you need the information.

"The Gunshop Of Cenral N.Y." has the machine that once was used by Win. for cutting the ribs on their shotguns. Try Jim Kelly of "Darlington Gunworks", I think he told me they were making bbl's.

Im not sure that barrel blanks have sufficient value to ship around. You might find that buying finished barrels to be cheaper in the long run. The value is in the machining and hand work. Relatively speaking, steel is cheap.

Just a note to be careful in assesing the value of the blanks and cutting cost buy using them.

Please let us know what you find - interesting question!!
