I was thinking of going to the January 2010 show in Greenwich, CT by Northeast Guns Shows.

I have been to some pretty poor shows put on by different outfits in PA.

What should I expect from the show in Greenwich?

Lou

No beef jerky or milsurps, all upper end guns, good show. Plenty of doubles, custom rifles, etc. high end accouterments.

My problem lies in reconciling my gross habits with my net income.

In that case I will try to go and bring my Baker Elite and Iver Special Trap to sell or trade:

For the Greenwich show, you can leave the Iver Johnson at home. It is not a Brown Iver Johnson type of show.

Easier to take just one. Makes it easier to get my wallet out.
But I am curious why you are down on a Brown Iver.

I would think that its color is indicative that it was not refinished or otherwise messed with.

Absent storing a gun like this under nitrogen for 70 years, how would you keep it from getting brown?

Anyone on the Forum have an example of an unrefinished Special Trap from the 1920's that is not brown?

Bushmaster, take a look at my old Special Trap in Frank Conley's book. It is not a brown gun. Until I saw yours, mine was the only one I had ever seen. Unfortunately, as nice as my old gun was, it was fitted with a recoil pad which I don't think is original.

The Iver in Conley's book is a mess compared to mine.
Moreover, mine has the original buttplate in good condition and the screws look as if they have never been turned.

You say that mine is the second that you have ever seen and yet it is not the type of gun that would generate any interest at Greenwich. Not sure I agree.
