I picked up my first Fox gun. Made in 1920 , I think, SN 197xx 12gauge 40% case color, carried alot but not shot much, top lever far to the right, nice case color left. I think the stock was cut and this pad put on. I have not contacted the Fox site yet. I will get a letter. LOP is 14". What time period were the Ranger pads made. I know with Marlins, Ranger was pre WW11 but I have no knowlege about the Ranger pads. I just was curious. Thanks for any information.

"Ranger" was a Sears, Roebuck & Co. "trade name" in the 1930s and 40s.

Thanks, I thought so, this pad has a goose and Ranger in a square, a #2 an then patent applied for, squares and circles in the pad and still quite soft and flexible for it's age. Thanks Again

sweep... by serial number your gun is not a Sterlingworth... sterlingworths are serialized 50,000-around 138,000 or so... 0-49,999 are graded 12 bores. Maybe an A grade?

Drew, I found serial #s on the Fox site under serial numbers and other useful information. The gun is marked Sterlingwoth on the reciever. I was more curious if the pad was done later or factory, seems it was put on later.
Thanks
