I am trying to figure out a Charles Boswell 410 gauge.

I looked in browns for the serial range and it stops in the 18000's

The serial number for this gun is 410113 and it has birmy proofs, looks like a nice gun. I have been dying for a english 410 and the price is good on this, BUT brown states that a few boswell's may have been made in canada that had birmy proofs and high serial number that are lower than the above number?

Anyone have any insight to this?

The dealer says that he thinks the gun was made in the 70's, as in 1970's

The proof marks will give you an approximate range of date of manufacture.

Hi, I'd e-mail Chris as Mark suggested. I did with my C.B. and Chris answered back within a day with all the info he had on the gun (who ordered it, the price at the time, when it was made etc).

Great guy to deal with. I wish is TV show was still on (Wingshooting the World).
