Does any one have any pictures of a nice custom rifle built on the NEF Handi?

There aint any such animal as a nice NEF Handi Rifle.

They're cheap and cheerful, at least if you need spectacles. Of all the single shot actions ever made in the USA, this has to be to worst looking of all. It's a Warthog in a herd of Gazelles.

There's an old saying, "You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear."

I'm very surprised DD, that you thought it was even possible for such a critter to exist. lol.

At the risk of offending Harry's sensibilities!

Here's a thread with lots of pics, laminated wood stocks in crazy colors seem to be very popular as do thumbhole stocks.

Also crazy colored laminated wood stocks WITH thumbholes.

Hello Rob,

No personal offence meant, and I hope none taken. As the bard said, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

Of course, he said that in the days before there were Opticians.

As for colour co-ordinated 'Picasso' style plywood stocks, they are an abomination that should be removed from the face of the earth and cleansed from the minds of men forever.

Personal opinions are of course, just that, personal. Some firearms are a joy and beauty to behold, some others make you want to be sick.

Harry

The NEFs make great tools, some of the buttstocks are so wide that you can always use them for canoe paddles! Kinda like some of Hal Hartley's stocks....

JDS, I am mildly offended at your calumny of Hal Hartley. I own three of his rifles, have owned a couple of others, and seen many, including a very nice one at this weekend's Albany gun show. Haven't seen any that meet your nefarious description.

No offense taken men, those aren't my guns. I agree with Harry's assessment of laminate stocks.

I bought a NEF 20ga. rifled slug gun last year for deer hunting. I got tired of carrying around 10lbs of 12ga pump with scope (slug only area) so I got one of these. The gun was cheap, weighs about 6lbs with scope and shoots into 2" @ 100yds. I have been trying to think of a way to make it presentable but it may be an effort in futility.

There are some things nice wood can't fix!

And there are some nice things "custom" wood can screw up!
