It's good to see that you shoot from the correct side!

I like the look of your flat-topped skeleton grip cap! Is that an ebony insert? Regards, Joe

I don't know what you're planning on hunting with that rifle, Bob, but it ought to be flattered to be shot by such a beautiful piece of the gunsmith's craft.

Guys right now these are the only pics I have and they came from Brent's website at www.dismalriverarmory.com It was nice to find another nice lefty rifle to add to my meager collection. The gun is in Missouri rihgt now and I'll be visiting it next month. I'll take some new pics then. Anyone ever seen it before?

I think this might be your man:

BTW, what a lovely rifle.

Gonna rain on the parade. Lovely wood, but clumsy chunky lines. And a common fault, open sights entirely too near the receiver.

I had actually thought somewhat along those same lines regarding the wood. It had crossed my mind that I might someday send it off to the stock doctor for some slight streamlining and re-checkering more along the lines of the original British classics. I'm too old to worry about the iron sights....can't see both sights at the same time any more anyway....so it's going to be pretty much scope only for me.
Thanks Peconga. I'll give Bill a buzz.

Looks like I did pretty well on this one. I was doing a little research on who might have made this rifle and I was given the name....Bill Sturtevant. Today I spoke to Bill's son at Sturtevant Arms in Pueblo, Colorado and he confirmed that the rifle was, in fact, built there. It is a Sturtevant Courage and the action, barrel and stock......the whole firearm.....is custom made from raw materials entirely in their shop. He remembered the rifle and was able to provide me with it's entire provenance. This one had most of the bells and whistle options too. He said the rifle would be around 5-6 times what I paid if I bought it today! I also found out that it has an incredible warranty. Check out this LINKSome days even belong to the blind pig.
