Gentlemen,
I have recently purchased a new to me lyman STS 15x scope. This is my first target type externally adjustable scope. I have put it on a couple different .22 rimfires and my shooting partner and I have been having a ball. I would like some guidance though.
I can find no literature at all on this scope. I would appreciate any help on proper adjustment. also the rear mount looks pretty grimy. I would think taking it apart for a cleaning would be a good idea. Any pitfalls to look for here?
TIA Brad Hurt

I can help with suggestions of a person to clean - I think. I have a 15x Lyman STS en route to me now following repairs. If it looks good,he will be my first choice for Lyman/Fecker/Unertl work.
Somewhere I may have a photocopy of an owner's manual. But really just focus the crosshairs using the rear ocular adjustment, then focus on the target with the bell housing. Aim. Shoot.
Not much to these and that's why they are great! Brent

Yes, the numbers get you close and once you know what they really need to be specifically for your eyes, you can come back to that point easily.
Great scopes they are. My 25x is really a wonderful piece of equipment.

Brent, Always looking for someone to do scope repairs, keep us posted. Best, Roger http://www.parsonsscopeservice.com/I've used Parsons in the past and have been satisfied with the work but not the problematic communication or the untimely delivery although his rep is quite good. Nowadays I try to do my own repair work, it's not difficult but would be a LOT easier if I still had good eyes and didn't have such big fat fingers. Regards, Joe

I got the scope back today. It looks great! It had a broken windage knob and a frozen elevation knob. They sat in his solvent tank all winter and patience persevered. The eventually loosed up and he got them apart and cleaned. The broken knob was repaired and all is good as knew.
During the course of the winter, he was very responsive to my queries for updates and really easy to talk to. His name is John Knudsen, and his email is knudsen@ctcweb.net And I highly recommend him. Tell I sent ya...
He is in Idaho.

My shooting partner just had given me knudsens name. I am not really interested in sending the scope off. The rear mount is just sort of grimy. Any thoughts on disassembly would be apreciated. Also if anyone knows where I could come across the owners manual, just for information, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks Brad
