Nice turkey Randy.

I don't use my turkey dog Buster in the spring. I have stacked them up this spring but this is the only one I killed with my W&C Scott double, I took it quite a bit but the days I did the killing I was toting my SBE.

I got shot this turkey killer one morning with it.

jOe, You and Buster better hide under a rock, taking out the yote kicks you out of the Mr. Greenjeans Club and the earth people are not going to be pleased. Been there, done that. BTW, Nice pics. Did you use your custom call to bring in the longbeard?

Rob.... Thanks for posting the pics and my hats off to you for taking your kids hunting. Randy

At the risk of being considered crude and unsportsmanlike I would like to congratulate you Mr. jOe and hope by saying you "got shot this turkey killer" you meant that you gut shot him. In my mind there is only one 'good' 'yote and y'all know what I'm talkin' 'bout!!

I never pass an opportunity to kill a coyote. This is the box call I used to call in both the turkey and the coyote. I made it in 2007...I think the chalk box has 34 turkey notches (spring and fall) and it's accounted for at least a couple of coyotes.
I shoot 2 % 3/4" Win. 1 & 1/2 oz number 4 shot out of the Scott It's choked .035 in both barrels...instant death for both.

jOe, Great craftsmanship on the call. I recall you showing us one of your hollowbone calls a few years back. How many notches does Buster have in his collar? Randy

My daughter took her turkey this morning after a long hike and a blown set-up earlier in the morning. We hiked to a distant secluded valley, got a gobble in response to our calls and hastily set up in the creek bottom. This tom with a 10" beard and 1-1/4" spurs came in quickly and she made a great shot with her 20 gauge zabala. She used a 3" nitro mag with 1-1/4 oz of #6.

She was the last one to get a turkey this year, it was a great year with all the kids getting good birds.

Here is another from 5:56am this morning.
It came in from the one direction that would be the most difficult, but at 8 yds, it really did not matter.

He had spurs just under 1.5" long and weighed just under 25#.

The gun is a Cashmore from Birmingham via New Zealand with a load of 90 gr of Goex Express and 650 gr of #5s.

Of course, I let the coyote go to ensure there would be a better bird population next year wink
