After some soul searching and a few rounds of practice I've decided that I can't leave the Mdl 21 home in favor of the Browning BSS. Way too much style and character in the 21 vs the BSS and I shoot it good too. Will be using that in the SXS event and have decided to shoot my Mdl 12 16 gauge in the pump event. Hopefully I might get to see a member or two there. I'll be in the Scamp trailer(looks like a boiled egg). Come on by for a Silver bullet or BV and Coke. JW

Are you going to the Top Gun shoot in August?

Yes, I am also signed up for the Top Gun shoot. Prelim, both SxS events, 20 ga, pump, main and 5 stand. I'll be there Thursday morning. I hear he has some monster trout in the ponds. Feel free to fish, but let go what you catch. Will you be there? John Wilgus

John, Yes, I am coming. Dan Mitchell has been a friend of mine for over 20 years,and he will be running the shoot. I've been to Jeff's place before and just being there is worth the trip. I will be bringing my fly rod.

Hopefully I'll shoot the side by side event. I'm a stock maker and I may ship out a few pieces of wood to display. I think I get in Wednesday night, so I'll be there Thursday.

What were you shooting in the S x S event at the Open at Tunica earlier this month, John? I shot a BSS with mod and full chokes.

Well it wasn't the SXS's problem at the state shoot. Shot a 32/50 for a second place finish in that event.

I shot with you at the US Open with my Cashmore Hammergun. Just shot the Texas State SxS event and won it with a 44/50. We only had a 50 round match unfortunately. It was in Kerrville, Tx on top of one of those Limestone hills.

I remember well your Wm. Cashmore. I enjoyed shooting with you, and watching you compete with the hammergun. I enjoy shooting a Remington hammergun and also a Manton m/l from time to time.

Congratulations on the win at the Texas State Championship. Good shooting! Didn't know if you saw on the scoreboard, but I won the AA Class S x S event, and was high overall in Veterans concurrent S x S at the Open. Lots of those "golden BBs" helping me out that day. I had an 87/100, but actually thought I shot poorly. It punched me up to Master (donor) class.

Here's hoping we run into each other again at a shoot someday.

Jim, great to hear from you and know that you frequent this site too. You are to blame for all my doubles. Your mdl 21 was my first SxS purchase and caused this addiction. Had to buy another safe just to hold em all. John Wilgus
