This is my new Farquharson action and the first complete rifle I've finished with it. Chambered in 7X57R, and weighed 5 3/4lbs without the scope, which has been installed. It's my own design, but is very similar to a true Farquharson. Cocking lever, extractor ( Gibbs style), integral trigger and sear are all very similar to the old design. I have an inline firing pin and coil main spring on mine though. The lever throw is only 40 degrees. I played a little this afternoon and put two shots inside 3" off hand at 220 yds. Fun stuff. Here are a few pictures of the action and the rifle. Hope you enjoy it. Stocked, in the white Finished.... Thanks, feel free to drop an email if you would like more details. baileybradshaw@netscape.com

A fairly extensive thread on this splendid little action's development can be found on the Single Shot forum of the Accurate Reloading site, wish I knew how to add a link to it. http://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/9421043/m/6661074421/p/1Well, sometimes I amaze even myself, tried a 'linking' experiment and it actually worked! Bailey is top-notch IMO, I really like his action a LOT! (but I personally would style the stock's wrist slightly differently, strictly personal taste) Regards, Joe

Bailey,
Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your work. Wonderful stuff, are you still making the little double rifles?
PS: I believe that we have a common friend in Gary Duffey.

Bailey, Nicely done comes to mind. I do like your work!
On a personnel note, I to have made a few single shots. Not a Farquharson, but a Fraser, Farrow, Freund sharps, what I call an 1876 sharps, a bar in action Alex Henry, and a few others. Might be fun to talk.
Also was a gun engraver and am a maker of fine tall case clocks.

Thanks for the kind words Gentleman,
Mr. Petrov,
Yes, Gary has spoken about you often. Most of the rifles you own make him weak in the knees. He's got it bad :-) I am still building the little doubles. Just finished the damascus actioned .22 hornet, and am working on a two barrel set .22 k-hornet and .410 shotgun. I just shot it with the .410 barrels. It motivated me to plan a set for my prototype action that I kept for dove season.
LRF,
Would enjoy speaking with you. I've been looking at the Farrow action. Very nice lines.

LFR, Sounds like you have some nice rifles, you should start a thread on them.

Over fifty years back, I saw a Belgian double .22LR at Judson Darrow's shop in Connecticut. My recollection is faint and I was much less knowledgeable then than I am now, but I think it was a Francotte and a boxlock. Frame bulkier than Bailey's, though. Wonder where it is now.
Also in Darrow's place that time, the well known Fugger engraved G&H HiWall with the gold miner menaced by bears. Darrow was working on a Pope scheutzen for author Lucian Cary. For me, he removed a Niedner mount from a Pope magnum Mauser .300 Hoffman and fitted a G&H base in the same holes.
