Anybody get to handle that Merkel sr1 semi auto rifle??
Curious on your thoughts.

looked over one with synthetic stock and battue style rear sight in cal. 9,3x62. all one had to do is spray some matte black paint in that rear sight channel and it would be ready to go. light handy rife unless there was kick stop system in that stock it must have kicked shit out it's previous owner. at first i thought it was benelli 'argo'. winchester or browning has something called 'vulcan' with similar handling characteristics.

I think they point well for battue type hunting or a brush gun as it is called here. Hate the plasticky parts and euro styling. They are selling for a $900 clearance price....a used Browning BAR at $500 or so in 270/30 06 is a cheaper candidate for me.
