I'm sure some of you are aware but since most of us who love fine rifles also love fine doubles as well and I have seen no mention of it here, Michael McIntosh passed away August 14th. suddenly. Michael was a fine writer and a real gentleman.
I only met Michael once at a S.H.O.T. show and we taked for about 30 minutes. Being a Southerner and a lover of Faulkner and Wolfe we discussed literature and shotguns and parted company, I am a little richer for my part having met him. I read most of his books but felt I got to know more of "THE MAN" in those few brief moments. So Michael, GOD BLESS and may the road rise to meet you and may the wind be always at your back. Requiescat in pace

“All things on earth point home in old October; sailors to sea, travellers to walls and fences, hunters to field and hollow and the long voice of the hounds, the lover to the love he has forsaken”
Thomas Wolfe " Look Homeward Angel"
