When I imported the Darne guns, Kirk Merrington was my warranty gunsmith. He handled a few trigger jobs on guns for customers, and I never had a complaint after he did the work.
Darne trigger pulls, at least on R models, are a bit troublesome to alter. We never got real light 2-4 lb. pulls, but, did get improvements to feel, creep, and letoff. I've never been a big fan of real light pulls on hunting shotguns, but, Kirk can likely set you up with something better than what you have.
V grade Darne guns have much improved trigger pulls, and a secondary sear, although it is not technically a sear, or, secondary, in this case, but, the gun can only fire on a V when the trigger is pulled, and can't be jarred off by dropping or shock, so it is the same idea as a secondary sear gun. I much prefer the handling qualities of an R Darne, and have simply learned to use mine as is-I might have Kirk work on it someday, but, I have used it as is for so long I might just let it be. V guns are a lot more money than Rs.
Good Luck, and let us know how it ends up.
Best,
Ted
