Just had my female dog fixed,she is 7 years old how long can I keep out from hunting?thank you

My vet said every dog is different. My male(lab) at 3 years took a week and he was faster than ever with no complications. My female(lab) at 8 months took a month before being back to normal. Best wishes on a fast and healthy recovery.

The new term for B...ch is Behar, as in "paybacks are a Behar"
I think Dennis Miller came up with it !



Just to stay on topic,my 1yr old Chocolate was fixed in Oct I have hunted her a bit but not hard.I thik each dog is indeed different

7 is very old to have a female "neutered". It would be important to know the procedure used to determine recovery time. I have my dogs "fixed" as soon as the vet allows. It is major sergury for female dogs if it is more than tying tubes. You'll know when she's ready to go back to work. And, best make it part-time to start.
