Does anyone have any experience with a Spanish manufactured Gursabel side by side shotgun? I am looking at one and know nothing about them. I would appreciate all the information you can give me about this gun. It has 3" chambers, boxlock, 28" barrels, and modified and full choke. Any idea what this might be worth?

How about Gorosabel? Can you check the spelling? Mostly low end boxlocks, very entry level stuff, don't usually bring much in 12 gauge, maybe in the $300-$600 range depending on just what it is and condition. You can go back an delete those extra posts, only need to click "submit" once.

I've never owned a Gorosabel, but have examined a couple with the thought of purchasing. Agree with Chief above, mostly entry level boxlocks with serviceable fit/finish/quality. Probably pre-DIARMS, I don't think Gorosabel survived that venture. As with most Spanish/Basque makers, they probably produced a few spectacular guns that disproved the rule. Buy the gun, not the name. Check Weiland's book, "Spanish Best" for a bit of background on Gorosabel (not prominently mentioned as I recall). Post pics if you can, but in 12 ga, it's probably a $300-$400 gun, considering that Uggie Model 30's are going for $600+.

There is a couple of boxlock and sidelock Gorosabel's listed in the 1988 gun digest. The boxlocks listed as model number's 501,502, and 503. The 501 being the basic model starting at $744.00 with the 503, listed at $1122.00.
I have an earlier Gorosabel 10 ga boxlock I picked up in the early 70's for around $150.00. Nothing fancy, about what Chief and Replacement suggest. Although I haven't used it for a while, I did put a lot of heavy 3.5" loads through it chasing geese without any failures or hic-ups.

The first double I bought was a Pedro Gorosabel, 12 gauge, boxlock, double triggers, 2 3/4" chambers. I had learned just enough to be dangerous. It had double underbolts, Greener crossbolt, and sideclips. Case coloring and blueing were excellent. Hey, that's a steal at $400. Took it home and one side would not indent the primer. A friend said the firing pin is probably broken; no big deal, that happens all the time. Took the gun apart and the tumbler had split in half. I don't think that happens all the time.

I looked at couple of used ones. One was a BL with coarse foliate engraving typically found on cheap Spanish guns. The barrels were stamped Krupp Special Laufstahl, but it was a piece of .... with plenty of rough finishing and tool marks to match. Second was a SLE that looked equal in quality to VB side-plated BLE, but the tag had 'ejectors do not work' phrase on it. I would stay away from this brand. Let me guess,....they're out of business by now, right? Gee, I wonder why?
