Brothers of the Steel: I picked up a very nice 1903 sporter built on a 1932 Springfield barrelled action [S.N.1410812] it has a provision for a side scope mount with just 2 screws. If someone could post pictures for me I would give everyone a look of the rifle, plus a closeup look of the scope mount situation and see if anyone recognizes a possible mount that was once mounted. Mike Petrov suggested an early Weaver but that is a no go! Thanks in advance Jerry

The 7th picture clearly showed the scope mount's inletting from above and one of the screws of the type used. However the photos have been deleted for some reason? Ideas? Jerry

Lets try this again, Alvin's rifle:
This first pic does show the mount inletting but you may want to take a full side view of the left side of the action so you can see the screw locations. I think you said it had 2 screws.
I do like the barrel sights, the sling swivel and the overall look of the metal. IMHO
