Here are the rest of the sxs guns I have - there are the good the bad and the ugly. Any information on history would be greatly appreciated.
1. Lucchini loce this gun, pretty and handles great.

This is a stevens sxs I picked up. After the way I got it I call it rusty..... I wanted a back of the ute gun.

This was given to me by my mother, it was my Grandfathers, 30 years ago when I got it I used to fire marbles out of it.... the shame. I know by gun standards it is a cheap gun, but its sentimental value is high. It has had stuff all use, I dont know how old it is, but the blue finish is all intact. On the rib it says R Diamond of Liege Belgium any ideas?

This one is marked CH Crawford Birmingham, it would have been a nice gun in its day. I have had it about 15 years and when I first bought it I thought Nitro Proof meant use anything.....I dont use this one anymore, but it would work. It was restocked at some stage and the barrels are not great.

As I said above any historical info on these would be great, I like the history as much as shooting them and just looking at them.

What is it about these old guns that draws us in?

The Lucchini gun was proofed in 1963.

The Belgian gun was proofed in 1924 or later. Possibly 1952-1986. However the pictures are not clear (bright) enough for me to be sure.

Charles H Crawford was a partner with George Walker of 72 1/2 Weaman Street in the firm of Walker & Crawford (1889-1901). George Walker had also traded as George Walker & Co (1889-1890).

When the partnership broke-up in 1901 Charles Crawford remained at 72 1/2 Weaman Street where he traded until 1934, and George Walker moved to 95 Weaman Street.

Roy;
On the old Stevens/Springfield note the rear crosspin is higher in the frame than the front one. This gun likely shows an April 1915 patent date & is a model 315. This gun is striker fired rather than having internal hammers.

Stevens 530, 311. Fox B etc all have a similar frame profile but the rear pin is lower, near the bottom of frame & these models all have the internal swinging hammers.

I almost choked on my tea as I saw the five-point star in a shield mark on the Lucchini - it used to be the Izhevsk Arsenal trade mark at one time smile weird coincidence smile
