Reading about Bill Wise reminded me of our friend that three or four years ago was probably the most frequent poster. He used a handle and lived in a small town between Houston and Galveston. He was very knowledgable and helpful.

I met him and had dinner with him once when I was working in Galveston. He stopped posting and I wonder if anyone knows how he is doing.

Thanks,
Riprap

Are you talking about the fine fellow who used a German sounding handle? Something like Herr Wilhelm? If so, he announced some time ago that he couldn't continue on the board for some vague, unspecified reason. Sounded like that devil Alzheimers, maybe.

Thanks for the help Jim. We are talking about the same person. Maybe someone has an update. I once had his correct name and phone number, but I don't have it anymore. In at least any type of random access file.

Mike, I can't remember his handle exactly. It was German as Jim said and similar to Herr Wilhelm, but I don't think that was it exactly. In fact his handle had some type of family history.

Board member, John Mann carried on an off-the-board communication with him (Wilhelm Gregor) for some time I believe. He was from Santa Fe, Texas, I think. If memory serves me he felt as if he were driven from the board by some who took exception with his always positive attitude. He would post words of encouragment in response to queries even if he didn't have specific knowledge. He was part of the boards character and it is poorer for his loss.

Best regards,
David

Wilhelm Gregor is correct! Sometimes others would address him as Herr Wilhelm. I agree he was a fine gentleman and we are the loser for his leaving us. I am happy to hear that it was not because of Alzheimers.

Thank God you were talking about Wilhelm!! I thought you were talking about that guy who used to have a chickendance in his hometown every year and was always inviting everyone to go down. Wasn't he from Texas, too? What the heck was his name? I remember he always got caught trying to buy guns over the internet with credit cards that weren't any good. Then he said his wife was divorcing him because he was buying too many guns. What the heck was his name? Dixieland or Chickenman or something like that.
