I had a customer in the shop a few months ago that needed a firing pin for an old 12 ga. LC. Being that none were available from any of my sources, I had the good pin duplicated for him by a friend who runs a very high end machine shop. It fit and worked perfectly. Well now we have a digital copy of the pin on file and we can crank out as many as we like. My question is how many of you here think it is worthwhile to make say 2 dozen of these? Is there a market? What are they worth?

I think there is certainly a market, but I wouldn't venture a guess as to how big. I think if you were to stock them you could sell a few from time to time if word gets out, but I think it would be more of a service than a money maker.
There was a guy that had the firing pin bushings on ebay for a while, but I haven't looked for a long time. Those go bad more often than the pins. I have the "Plans and Specifications" book and could get you some dimensions if you wanted to make some up.
Put me on the list for a set of pins, and a couple sets of bushings if you decide to make them.

You might approach Numerich. They may be willing to purchase a quantity that would make the effort worthwhile and off-load the sales/distribution aspect.

Fellas post frequently on the LCSCA site looking for bushings and pins. Maybe you could hook up with Poppert's? This appeared last April and I do not know if bushings are still available.
L.C. Smith Firing Pin Bushings are back in stock. These are slotted but are not machined for the lock screw. 10.00 each plus 4.75 S&H.

If you are going to run them, I suggest they be made slightly longer than the drawing to allow for fitting. Anyone putting in firing pins should have the capability and knowledge to fit them correctly.

I'm really not looking to make money per se. We spent a lot of time making the pattern so it would be silly to waste it. I'm thinking of making 25 sets. When I sell them off I'll make more. Bsteele yes it would be nice to have the specs. You can PM them to me. Thanks guys.
