Any of you fellows know if anyone has the old Cashmore records and could tell me about one I have? It is referred to in the 1910 catalog as their "Ejector" boxlock model at a price of 50 pounds, and has reinforced forend with the double rifle type lever fastener,no safety, intercepting sears, sideclips, square X-bolt(Scott action,I think, very fine full coverage scroll engraving, and long top tang.I can't find out anything other than the above info. I have a couple of cool Cashmore guns and some paper. No records that I know of. Let's see some pictures of what you are looking at. I might be able to add something.

I have been frustrated as well. Have one of their "nitro's" from before the first world war with with 3.5" chambers (1 1/4 ounce proofs - I believe a proprietory pigeon load of some sort) and Whitworth barrels. Tightly choked with exterior locks (no typo), it is a box bird thumper. The 3.5 inch chambers make for nice forcing cones with modern 1 1/4 loads. Very neat gun.

I had one...it might've been made by Scott but the action didn't look like a Scott to me.

Joe, I have a Nitro , too. They are the coolest. Mine is marked 3" Chambers for 1 1/4 oz of shot. Whitworth barrels , tight locks and the tightest scroll work [100% coverage] that I think I have on any guns. I think , at the turn of the century it cost more than their highest grade SLE.

You are the only other person that I have come across with one. Mine is fairly plain, though really exceptional shape. Interesting thing is that it is engraved on the bottom that it was made "especially" for a gentleman in Rockford, IL. Library there sent me a bunch on him - quite a local sportsman at the turn of the century. And yes, the very coolest.

Joe, What are exterior locks? I use a Cashmore SLE with 32" barrels ful and full for sporting clays and ducks. 3" chambers, proofed for 1 3/8.

Sandlapper, I have a Cashmore hammergun in 2.875 x 10 bore, looks to be 1910-20ish it is a fairly plain gun but of high workmanship like my Blands. Martin
