HEY! Looking at a Beretta S56E o/u in 12ga. In my openion it is a 90% to 95% gun. No wear marks that i can find, top lever way to the right, single owner in case. It is a double trigger gun. In the new blue book there is no reference to the double trigger as to any value. I am a double trigger guy and will keep it. I like the price so i will buy the gun. I just wanted to know if the double trigger brought any value to the gun or does it matter value wise?

Thanks

Tommy

I have 2 S56E guns with double triggers and have watched prices for several years. My impression is that double triggers reduce the value about $100.

And i am just the opposit and would pay a pinch more to have the double trigger. I guess it's just what you like. Thanks for the info.

There is no sense having a double gun without double triggers. Two triggers provide ultimate reliability and the fastest choice of choke. Single triggers introduce needless complexity into the equation. A double rifle for dangerous game will never have a single trigger.

I agree with you that double triggers are an advantage on a hunting gun (probably not on a target gun). I understood your question to be about price and not some other measure of "value". If you mean price in money, I am fairly confident that double triggers reduce the average price that the gun will bring in the market. While the three of us agree that double triggers are advantageous, most buyers disagree.

By the way, note there are 3 S56E guns for sale on the national internet sites, one as low as $500 in decent but not great condition, that remain unsold.

A dealer, unless specializing in doubleguns, might very well price a DT S56E lower. One who does specialize in doubleguns might add a slight premium. And if you were to take such a gun to a doublegun shoot and try to sell it, you'd certainly attract more interest with a DT gun.
