I have a Lyman #1A combination tang sight that needs to have the spring replaced. Could someone tell me how to disassemble the sight? Thanks

remove elevation stem
loosen/remove nut from right side, I use machinist's clamp noses
slide trunnion out to left, being sure to capture the tiny spring and plunger if it's a 1A

Dude:

Disassembly is not the problem... They come apart quite easily. They are no fun at all to put back together. It can take a lot of messing around to get the spring loaded correctly and the sight assembled.

Best of luck,

Glenn

Glenn is correct, as usual/always.

I used to think my language was pretty salty until I began messing with these things, but in the last few years I've taught myself some brand-new curse words and expressions!

I have a few orphan parts, if it turns out that you need something please don't hesitate to ask.
