chux.The Manton family tree records; George Henry Manton,b 1789-d 1855. He was the son of John Manton, unfortunately no connection with the name on your gun! I agree with Terry on the dates of the proof marks on your gun.The proof marks are Birmingham.In my opinion the gun was made in Birmingham for G.H.Henry. Looking at the address in London, it is very likely that G.H.H. was a retailer of sporting goods who as part of his business sold some guns; made in Birmingham, bearing his name.Likely the business was a victim of the great depression, hence short lived,and no apparent surviving record of the business.
The selling price should reflect its origin and the fact that it has been subject to reproof. It is not a London gun that justifies a premium price. Recommend that you have it inspected by a competent gunsmith prior to purchase.
